Brush Shape:

Round: 
This brush can straighten or curl your hair while drying. 
Best for: Creating volume and curl

Paddle
Especially helpful if you have long and/or thick hair. It can manage a lot of hair all at once and smooths it down for a sleeker look. 
Best for: Straightening and preliminary drying

Vent: 
These brushes are ideal when blow drying your hair because it provides for a great amount of airflow. They are also great for creating volume on all hair types

Cushion:
This type of brush is also good at smoothing away any unwanted hairs.

Thermal:
These brushes work with your dryer because they lock in heat helping to style your hair quickly.

Bristle Type:

Boar:
If you have thick, course hair that requires tug to achieve fullness, boar bristle brushes are worth the investment. They make styling easier and promote shine and smoothness. Boar bristles can add volume to fine and normal hair types. 
Best for: Medium, thick, and coarse Hair.
